The workers on Telemadrid (the public TV station for the Autonomy of Madrid) are staging some protests against the layoff of 925 employees (almost 80% of the staff).

On December 4th, at 00.00 they turned off the lights of the studio. The only image was of Díaz-Ferrán, whose tourism empire crumbled in 2010 and ex-president of the main business association in Spain. Díaz-Ferrán is currently in prison, under investigation for fraud, money laundering, stealing and tax evasion. In a recent police search of his home, they found 150.000€ and 1kg of gold valued in 40.000€. He is also close friends with local Madrid politicians, and embodies a poisonous «old boys» conception of business and politics that is pervasive across Spain.
